The E-Bike Rebate
In order to qualify for the rebate you first have to prove your Denver residency. This must be done by showing documentation, like a utility bill or a lease companies within the area. Those seeking to obtain an income-qualified voucher must be enrolled in a program like LEAP. Though the incentive cannot exceed the total purchase price of a bike, it still a great deal. One of the best things about this deal is that all classes of e-bikes are included. Yes, even class 3 e-bikes, which provide assistance up to 28 miles per hour. On the other hand, full-suspension mountain bikes are excluded.
How is all this possible? The deal comes from the Denver Climate Action Rebate program. Remember, those applying for the rebate are expected to use the e-bike they purchase. In other words, resale is not allowed. The program aims to reduce car emissions and ease traffic in the greater Denver area. However the program will appeal to those seeking a cheap and easy option for making quick trips around the city. With that said, some e-bikes can travel 100 miles or more on a charge. One local company, FattE Bikes, reports that “the program has already started to generate an uptick in e-bike interest.”
