Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids

Thanksgiving is the time of the year that we show thanks to our friends and family for their support throughout the year. It is also one of the hardest holidays to prep for because of all of the cooking required to serve the entire family. This can especially be difficult when the kids are off from school and need a constructive way to occupy their time. Here are some great Thanksgiving craft ideas for kids that will keep them out of the kitchen while you make that casserole! Also, if you are looking to buy or sell a home in Colorado, consider Mark Eibner as your agent.

Turkey-Day Crafts

Got some left over toilet paper rolls? Don’t throw them out! These make great canvases for kids to turn into turkeys and pilgrims. Let them be creative with the construction paper, child-safe glue, and other craft accessories. Fuzzy pipe-cleaners make great turkey legs of all sizes and colors. They can make an entire congregation of them and play with them like Thanksgiving action figures. The storylines will undoubtedly make themselves and it will keep them entertained for hours.

Another great family friendly craft idea for Turkey Day are leaf ornaments. This craft is actually two activities in one: first go on a fun scavenger hunt outside to find the best fallen leaves for the job and then get crafty decorating them with faces and glitter. The great thing about these are if one chips or breaks, they can easily be replaced with another leaf. You may even trick the kids into helping with raking the leaves in the yard which your Thanksgiving Day guests will appreciate. After the festivities are over, these are easy to expose of too.
